Last month we had the opportunity to take off for a week of travel to the east coast of Florida – only our second trip to Florida as a family! Our very first trip to Florida was on the west coast and we flew (me and the boys’ first time EVER in Florida) just two years ago.
For this trip we traveled through nine states and spent at least one night in three of them…most of our week was spent on Hutchinson Island in Florida. I’m blogging my way through our trip in this series and you can catch up by following the links at the end of this post.
Today I want to share about our trip to the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium in West Palm Beach. This is a small-medium sized museum/aquarium and we had free admission thanks to the ASTC reciprocal museum membership we are part of as members of the McKinley Museum here in Canton, Ohio.
If you’re not familiar with the ASTC reciprocal membership you probably should be. I talked about this more in this post.
I’m only showing a little of our visit. In addition to what you see there was a large room featuring Lego and activities. There was a room with mind-bending puzzlers and more scientific things like the nanoparticles and hurricane simulator which you can watch this video of my son inside it at my Youtube channel.
When you first walk in you’ll see the aquarium to your left. It was fascinating, while small. Outside in the back there is a large interactive area with different things to do involving sound and more.
You can learn more about admission costs and what’s available to do at the South Florida Science Center in West Palm Beach by visiting their website or check out their Facebook Page.
