Back in June I was introduced to a family company that delivers chicken and other goodies to customers at designated parking lots in 48 states (USA). You can see my post about Zaycon Foods here, it includes a video clip produced by Good Morning America that you should see. Zaycon was started by an out-of-work dad and that scored big points with me.
Today I’m sharing my Zaycon Foods chicken review. I received the all-natural chicken that comes in 40 pound boxes. I believe my box had about 42 breasts if memory serves me correctly. I share pictures below from box to freezer. This 40 # box of all natural chicken breasts cost about $74 – so about $1.85 a pound for fresh (maybe only one day old) all natural chicken.

They met me and other customers from my part of Ohio in a church parking lot one morning from about 8-8:30am. I just checked their website for their next delivery events to NE Ohio and saw they are already SOLD OUT of their December deliveries for Boneless Applewood Smoked Ham and 40# Fresh Lean Ground Beef (93/7) for Canton, Akron, Richmond Heights and Elyria.
The next Chicken events in NE Ohio are scheduled for February and they are still taking orders for those in each of those areas.
The chicken is VERY cold, but not frozen. I mostly packed two chicken breasts each into quart size zipper lock baggies. These went into the freezer.
My favorite way to cook my Zaycon chicken has been to pan-fry with olive oil, salt, pepper and sliced garlic. The outside gets golden brown and the chicken is so delicious. I also like to bake it on rice with honey poured on top – yum! Maybe a little addictive? (Note: I use my rice cooker to cook up a big batch of rice and then store in the freezer for future meals.)
Another of our favorite chicken dinners is to make these: we call them chicken puffs in our house.
