The Tower of Babel, Watch the Tower Rise and Read About Its Fall! (pop-up & read) is illustrated by Jon Taylor, $14.99.  There is simply one very large pop-up scene of the Tower of Babel that stays up for every page of the book as you read.

The book begins… “This is the story of a large tower built by people who wanted to show their greatness instead of doing what God told them to do. How the tower began and why it was never completed holds a lesson for us all. Let’s begin a the beginning…”

We know from the bible that God sent a Great Flood to destroy mankind with the exception of Noah and his family ( just eight people). Everyone conceived and born since then has come from Noah’s three sons: Shem, Ham and Japheth. And it wasn’t long before – once again, mankind was demonstrating their rebellion towards the God who created them for His glory.

It is fascinating to understand that the reason we have so many different languages in the world can be traced back to the Tower of Babel – where God confounded the universal language all men once shared. It further makes sense that as a result, people would have migrated to different parts of the world taking their new language with them. And consider the fact that the account of Noah’s Flood has been shared through the ages amongst a variety of different cultures. Read this:

Did you know that stories about a worldwide flood are found in historic records all over the world? According to Dr. Duane Gish in his popular book , Dinosaurs by Design, there are more than 270 such stories, most of which share a common theme and similar characters. (source).

Why so many languages in the world?

 …………………………..

The true biblical account of the infamous Tower of Babel can be found in (KJV) Genesis 11:1-9

And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.  And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.   And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly.

And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter. And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.

So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.”
