Ya’ll I know I have not been blogging much lately, but you know where you’ll find me? Social media, friends. I post multiple times a day on my Ohio events page and Twitter and I try to post most days at my Hall of Fame Moms page. I usually post weekly or multiple times a week over on Instagram too.
Blogging takes a lot of my time to write, edit and get things right. I’m a bit of a perfectionist, too.
And, homeschooling my kids, having them around me pretty much 24/7 makes it hard for me to find a good block of time daily to work without being interrupted. So I have a new plan!
My New Blogging Schedule
My plan is to have a new fresh blog post for you every Monday!
Now, that is not to say there won’t be a second blog post that week, but my new plan is to only require of myself to put out one blog post every Monday. Truth be told, it may be published Sunday night so you have it Monday morning.
Real Life is Where it’s At
Yeah, real life is where it’s at. That is where I want to be. I don’t want to be fussing too much with the blog. I’m already busy being present on social media daily sharing free and discounted family-fun Ohio events and attractions and parenting posts.
We’ve been working on getting our yard set up to be more enjoyable this summer. With just a few simple inexpensive changes I already want to be outside more!
What to Expect on the Blog
I will still be sharing all the usual on the blog and honestly, other than announcing that I plan to have one new blog post every Monday…you may not notice anything different. You just know to expect it on Monday vs. posts just popping up “whenever”.
I like that.
I really hope you’ll be looking forward to my fresh Monday posts. I already feel good giving myself “permission” to only post once a week, for now. Again, there may be times when I post more than once, especially when I create a new Youtube video that I want to tell you about over here. You can also follow me on Youtube here.
What about you?
Whether you blog or not, have you ever given yourself permission to just “back off” of something you’ve been doing so you can focus on other things that are important to you? Tell me about it in the comments. I read them all.
Yes, when “life-happens”, right? That’s when we need to just be okay with putting the blog off so we can take care of real life needs. Thanks, Diondra 🙂
Yes I doo try and give myself time to focus on just one thing, but its hard at times. Life has a way of throwing so much at us so we have to juggle mutltiple things.
Yep, you’re right. We have to do what works for us. That’s how I view success, too. I don’t have to be a “big” blogger or be making a lot of money to be successful. Our family has been blessed through the work I do here and that makes it a success in my eyes. Thanks, De 🙂 .
Yes, I know the feeling. Right this minute I’m in the middle of trying to schedule some of my social media posts for the whole week so I don’t have to think about it all every day. Thanks for taking time to comment, Ola!
I don’t know if there is any true balance but we can sure try! Thanks for the comment, Evelyn.
I like the new direction and I too am trying to do the same thing. Thanks for the confirmation that the work/life balance can be accomplished.
I practice “backing off”
From time to time with my blog. I also do it with social media which is a necessary evil that drives me crazy.
Right now I have significantly reduced my blogging. Still writing and drafting just nothing published. I like to write but you’re right it’s time consuming to edit and take pictures. When Indongwt around to it I ahve plenry of content. I find its your blog and life do what worka for you. Good for you for doing just, that!
Thanks, Mom 🙂
Looking forward to your blogs on Monday! I enjoy all of your posts!
