This past weekend my husband and I were invited as guests to the Akron Children’s Hospital Tree Festival Gala. The gala is a private event where over 400 themed-decorated Christmas trees, wreaths and other decorative pieces are sold to raise money for Akron Children’s Hospital – as well as an incredible dinner to enjoy and dessert buffet.

We had a great time with the group we sat with which included some of  the hospital’s PR and other bloggers. We also saw former OSU football coach Jim Tressel there! We had to get pictures with him!  Jim is standing in the middle of our group.

The gala kicked off the ACH Tree Festival which opens to the public from November 17th -25th. This year marks the 31st year.  “All display items are for sale, and proceeds support patient care programs, education and research at Akron Children’s Hospital.”

Admission is FREE. If you’re near Akron take your family to the John S. Knight Center to see the trees this week. It is a beautiful sight! Details here.
