*The posts from this trip to Put-in-Bay, Ohio (September 2017) are the last few posts moved from my 1000 Things Ohio blog to my main blog here. This was a sponsored trip though I was not paid.
Our family has made day trips to Put-in-Bay, South Bass Island, Ohio different times in the past, but last month we spent two nights there. This was a first for us!
This visit was during the week vs. the weekend. I told you in my last post here that since we are a homeschooling family we have the flexibility to travel during the week while most other families can’t because of school. There are a lot of advantages to homeschooling and avoiding the busy touristy times is just one of them.
Put-in-Bay Condos
This is not a paid post but our condo and transportation were covered for this trip so that I could share our experience with you. I’ve written a lot about our family’s visits to Put-in-Bay over the years. I’ll include some links to our past trips at the end of this post.
The condo that was available to us could actually hold up to 12 people and, boy, was it a beauty! Before we got too comfortable after our arrival I did a walk-through video of the inside. Below you can view the video of this amazing condo! Our condo featured…
- four bedrooms,
- three baths,
- three balconies with an
- overlook back room (see that stone structure pictured above with the three large windows at the top)
- gorgeous kitchen with modern appliances
- lakeside view
- two floors
It was so nice to be able to relax in this home away from home for a couple days. We didn’t plan to do much else like we had in past trips. During our two night stay we wanted to be free to take our time and roam around the island.
See more of the condo in the video below. If you have trouble seeing it on the blog go here.
Eating on Put-in-Bay
If you’re going to Put-in-Bay be sure to prepare ahead and consider taking water and food or plan to buy when you’re there.
We stopped at a grocery store on the mainland before picking up the Miller’s Boatline ferry. We wanted to be prepared to fix some of our meals at the condo. There is just one small grocery store on the island and we didn’t know what kind of stock they would have.
We also ate out at least once at Pasquales Cafe located downtown near the park.
