Welcome to part three of my 2016 series about finding fun in the greater Sandusky, Ohio area. On this particular day we were riding Miller Ferry out to Put-In-Bay and as I mentioned in this post it’s really important to think about what kind of traffic you can expect on the island and how you want to get-around.
Our golf cart rental was provided for us to complete our travel on this day. This is not a paid post and opinions are my own.
We had chosen to visit Put-In-Bay on a weekend that just happened to fall on Father’s Day weekend and the Pyrate Fest. Thankfully, we had a golf cart reserved for us at E’s Golf Carts. E’s is just a short walk from the ferry dock. ALL their carts were gone or spoken for when we arrived and people were being turned away. It was a busy Saturday!!
As you’ll see below, our cart fit four – but you can get larger! On a hot day or when facing challenging weather or limited time you’ll probably want to have a set of “wheels” to get around. Before you head out to Put-In-Bay it’s very wise to check the island’s calendar of events to see what’s happening and decide beforehand if you need to reserve a cart! (See my 3 tips here).
Where did we go on Put-In-Bay?
On this day we were headed to these Put-In-Bay family fun places…
~ Perry’s Victory and Peace Memorial where we’d visit the visitor’s center and
~ ride to the top of the memorial,
~ visit Perry’s Family Fun Center to see the Butterfly House,
~ Perry’s Cave and
~ Fort Amaz’n
~ tour the Flagship Niagara
~ check out Pyrate Fest and the island in general.
E’s Golf Cart got us around with no problems! I’ll tell you about each of the places we visited from the list I shared above in upcoming posts.
