This was my first favorite song on Peter Furler’s new solo album. I know it came out last year but my husband just brought it home from the library a few weeks ago [we don’t buy music cd’s often- however, I may have to buy this one]. This is my kind of rock song. So, seeing that Peter came out with an official video for the song I’m sharing it- not so much for the video, but for the song itself! A rockin’ thank you! to my God and Savior, Jesus Christ!
Peter Furler started the Newsboys way back when and I’ve been a listener on and off since the early 90’s, my husband and I had one of their songs played in our wedding. Peter recently left the group, handing over the mic to Michael Tait (formerly of D.C. Talk) and took time off. I think he’s a natural songwriter and just couldn’t “not” write and sing and now he has his own album out and my boys and I are really liking it.
I want to add that he appears to be really good about acknowledging his fans online, like this time I tweeted telling him my 6 year old was singing the song in the video, “I’m Alive”, in an Australian accent. Because Peter is Australian he has an accent and Jack pronounces the words the way he hears them sung.
If you’ve been listening to contemporary Christian music for as long as I have you may remember Mylon Lefevre & Broken Heart. Peter is married to Mylon’s daughter, Summer and you can see Peter and Summer together here for an interview about the time their marriage was suffering. Peter is coming to Wickliffe, Ohio in August to sing! Just sayin’ .
And further more, I want you to know that I did not write this post in ka-hoots with anyone or anything! I’m simply sharing a part of me with you that you probably didn’t know about.

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.
Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
Psalm 100 (KJV)
