Last week my boys and I visited Rolling Ridge Ranch out in Amish country with our Chesca Homeschool Group. I had heard of this place, but never been there. Where else in Ohio can you ride in an horse drawn wagon with buckets of feed for wild animals? They come to you!
Alpacas, different kinds of deer-type animals, Ostrich, water buffalo, camel…even a Texas Longhorn all were coming up to our wagon for some chow… or to check us out I suppose. We saw new babies – one had just been born that morning! You get one bucket of animal feed with your price of admission. Besides the wagon ride which probably takes about an hour, you have free access to the petting zoo. There were baby ducks and little bunnies that even children were allowed to hold with adult supervision.
Coming from Canton, the trip out there was probably around 40 minutes. I packed sandwiches for the kids to eat in the van on our drive out there. Along Route 93 in/near Brewster we passed the Shearer’s (potato chips!) outlet store where you can get very large bags of chips for $4 and other sizes at other prices. You might just want to make a pit stop there if you have a party coming up and need chips, salsa, etc. 🙂 .

Bye..
Hey Tracy,
I actually meant African Safari Wildlife Park (Port Clinton).
They had deer, buffalo, a long horn, giraffes (my favorite) and zebras. The kids were also able to ride a camel and pony.
Since your kids liked Rolling Ridge, I’m guessing they would like African Safari Wildlife Park as well.

I’ve never been to The Wild’s … maybe we’ll have to do that too. Thanks for the comment, Danielle.
Looks like it was a lot of fun. We visit The Wild’s two years ago (similar concept but you drive your own car through). I think we might have to check Rolling Ridge out this year.
