Back to this series. I’ve got a lot to share today. I raise some additional questions that I won’t be able to really get into today in this post, but may deal with later so please consider subscribing here to get my posts emailed to you or sent to your RSS feed, you can also follow me on Facebook. And remember, this series is not a personal attack on anyone who uses other bible versions.
This week’s question is #33 from The Answer Book by Dr. Samuel Gipp…
“If the King James [Bible] is really perfect, how can so many preachers and scholars be wrong about it?”
Dr. Gipp’s answer is that … “The majority is ALWAYS wrong.”
He explains that Jesus points out the following biblical truth : that the majority of the population will not get saved according to Matthew 7:13,14.
“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”
He backs this up with the following examples straight from the bible…
- “The majority of people rejected Noah’s preaching and died in the flood.
- The majority of people perished in Sodom and Gomorrah.
- The majority of Israel worshipped Aaron’s calf in Exodus 32.
- The majority of Israel rejected the ministry of the prophets such Jeremiah.
- The majority of people rejected Jesus Christ during His earthly ministry.
- The majority of people alive today reject Jesus Christ as the Saviour of the world.
It would seem that throughout history, it has always been a small group of people who have had a heart soft enough to accept God’s revealed truth.”

The fact that the majority of Bible “scholars” and preachers reject the King James Bible is no surprise as we see from biblical history. And if there’s one thing we can and should learn from history its that history repeats itself! So you better be in the business of learning your history. That includes the history of your faith and your bible, because not all bible versions are equal. Some modern day versions leave out some of Jesus’ words, remove entire verses, and possibly all of them come from CORRUPTED Greek Text (compiled by Westcott & Hort in the 1800’s) and you don’t have to be ignorant of these things. The research, the information is out there. And its no secret that bibles sell and companies want to make money. But I’m getting way ahead of today’s post.
I want to leave you with some verses including the following command from Jesus Christ, himself …
And keep in mind, because Jesus IS God and the bible is God’s word- the whole bible IS Jesus’ words not just the ones printed in “red” ink. [For those who think otherwise, let me assure you, the bible teaches that God the Father, God the Holy Ghost or Spirit and God the Son, Jesus Christ- are all the one & the same God.]
“Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.” John 14:23-24 [emphasis mine]
“The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.” Psalm 12:6-7 [emphasis mine]
” As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him. For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God?” Psalm 18:30-31
“By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.” Psalm 33:6
“GOD, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in the time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds: Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all thing by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;” Hebrews 1:1-3
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12

Thanks for the comment, Mac. I have no trouble choosing – it would be the KJV. And regarding “Original Writings” – there are none (they no longer exist) and God authorized copies from at least the time of Moses when Moses broke the 10 Commandments that God had written with his own hand. God made him make a copy.
Kings in the Old Testament were expected to make copies and New Testament believers running from persecution copied the scriptures too. The only reliable manuscripts, I believe, are the ones used to translate what is referred to today as the King James Bible (authorized 1611).
There so much more that could be said. Check out my KJV Q&A series here on the blog for a sampling for direction in your own study. I recommend Gipp’s Understandable History of the Bible and Ripplinger’s New Age Bible Versions.
Best wishes!
Two translations: one suggests that that Joseph could be the father of Jesus (Luke 2:33), the other is careful not to do that (KJV). Many verses in the two translations differ, but without having the Original Writings, you cannot always tell the true from the false. Which of the two versions would you trust if your soul salvation depended on it?
