With my husband off from work for Labor Day we decided to go visit the Beech Creek Butterfly House and Gardens in Alliance, Ohio. This is not too far of a drive from where we live in Canton. I had heard about this place but never visited and wow! what a nice place. Admission is free. A friend told me this place closes September 12 (2010) so if you want to go, go now!
This is a great place to go whether you’re homeschooling or not. There are a couple different buildings at least…one a greenhouse and the other the butterfly house. The greenhouse had learning stations where you could watch a landscaped train set up with movable train, build a flower station, a dig station, a stream table and more.
Strange flowers, weird catterpillars and beautiful butterflies…Oh My!
Butterflies in the making (see their chyrsalis’ hanging?). I’ve shared some more cool pics of our visit at Hall of Fame Mom’s Facebook page here. Come and check them out!
Where will we go next? Subscribe here so you don’t miss that post!

How fun! My hubby and I visited a butterfly garden in Costa Rica in 2007…it was breathtaking! Later we were able to spot some of the butterflies we had learned about when we were in the rainforest and when we were rafting!
Thanks for linking up to Try New Adventures Thursday. 🙂
the place looks very interesting and educational
